[vsnet-superoutburst 762] WZ Sge : results of August 23/24 run & intermediate results of Aug 24/25 run - quickly fading !!
Dear colleagues,
I have just posted the Aug 23/24 light curve of WZ Sge on my web site.
Superhumps with an amplitude of about 0.3 mag and sharp peaks are dominating
again, but are clearly interrupted by dip-like phenomena of about 0.1 mag,
some of which probably are to be attributed to eclipses.
I have started another CCD run on WZ Sge tonight (Aug 24/25) at about 19:50
UT. Sky is very clear and stable, so there's a high likelihood that I will
be able to continue observations till about 03:15 UT tomorrow morning. I'm
using 20 sec (unfiltered) exposure times. A visual inspection of the
intermediate light curve reveals a quick fading of the variable (at least
0.06 mag in approx. 2 hours), clear superhumps with unsharp peaks, and
multiple well-pronounced dips, mostly in the declining branch of the
superhumps. Altogether, the profile is rather complex, especially when
compared to for instance the Aug 22/23 session. I will make the intermediate
light curve available on my web site too.
Best regards,
Tonny
