[vsnet-sequence 6] Re: V2400 Oph sequence (Sumner/Henden)

Dear Bruce and interested readers,

last night I had a look at my sequence brew for V2400 Oph and compared it to yours. This is a rather easy field to allocate reference stars and we have derived a similar set.
Two main differences though and I dare to push my preference here:

1. I would definitely include the star 13.42 (0.71) 2' E of V. It is not just closer to V2400 but also more blue than No 4 in your list.

2. Star 15.01 (0.51), located at 171252-241232, is a bit further away from V than your No 9 but it is defintely blue-white and not red like No 9.
It must be expected that if V2400 Oph fades slightly it will still be blue-hot.

That was my promised feed-back on the sequence.

Kind regards,

Berto

V2400 Oph sequence (Sumner/Henden)

Subject: [vsnet-chat 3418] V2400 Oph - comparison sequence

For Berto, here is the sequence for V2400 Oph, derived from Arne's
recent field photometry. As Arne noted, this is a crowded field, and
I had to be careful to select stars that were not affected by close
neighbours. The field is also quite red, and I had to include two
stars, namely 9 and 10, that are really too red to be included in a
normal sequence, but because of their proximity to the variable, and
because there were no other suitable stars near these magnitudes, I
had to include them in this sequnce. Do use them with care.
