Subject: [vsnet-be 35] P Cygni

As an amateur I observe the time behavior of the H-alpha emissioof the LBV
star P Cygni for years.  On 5.8.00 the line strength with 47 Angstr. was
unusually low.  The measurement of the amateur Guenter Gebhard (Neumarkt,
Germany) from yesterday (9.8.00) resulted in 50 Angstr. The emission strength
had the value of approx. 100 Angstr 3 weeks ago.  It became smaller in this
time approx. 50%!!. 
Urgently further monitoring spectra are to be taken up.
