Dear colleagues, I have the results of another night of unfiltered CCD photometry on V589 Her (July 12/13, 2001). This was 3.4h session under perfect sky conditions. The resulting light curve (see also my web site) shows a gradual decline, but again no apparent modulations. The present outburst therefore very likely is not a superoutburst, or -as pointed out by Makoto Uemura- the show still has to begin. Yet, I'm starting to wonder if V589 Her is not 'just' an UGSS type dwarf nova (see also previous outburst records).
