[vsnet-outburst 421] FX Cep - very likely a UGSS type dwarf nova
Dear,
FX Cep currently is undergoing an outburst (2000, Aug 23.909 UT - mag 15.1 unfiltered). An unfiltered time-series photometry session on August 23/24, 2000 (CBA Belgium Observatory, 0.35-m f/6.3, ST-7 CCD) has resulted in a rather flat light curve. The result is in line with some other photometry sessions undertaken at CBA Belgium Observatory in 1996 and 2000. Given the absence of superhumps, and considering the overal outburst characteristics, chances are high that this variable is an UGSS-type dwarf nova.
Best regards,
Tonny Vanmunster
