Observing conditions 1996
G. Poyner
Birmingham England
Clear = 74 nights
Partially clear = 52 nights
Cloud = 240 nights
Best month July 11 clear/ 5 partially clear
Worst month January 0 clear/ 3 partially clear
Partially clear = sky 50 percent or more cloud, including 'holes'.
Cloud = no breaks at all
Slightly worse than 1995, especially at the beginning of the year,
but it did pick up in the second half.
Not very scientific, but gives a good idea as to localised conditions!
regards,
Gary
