Dear Colleagues,
On November 2-3 1995 I obtained photometry of
the spectrophotometric standard star BD+33 2642. Surprisingly, it appeared
to be going into eclipse on Nov 2 (decreasing by a factor of 3 in brightness)
and faint on Nov 3. I have not yet been able to track down any
instrumental problems. Although, since I was using an aperture
photometer, I am unable to verify that I had the correct field on Nov 3.
Since this result is so unexpected, if anyone was observing this star on
these dates and can confirm or rule out that BD+33 2642 changed in brightness
I would be grateful to hear from you.
I can be contacted via e-mail at jhw@astro.keele.ac.uk.
Thank you,
Janet Wood
