AW Sge [UG, 13.8p - <17.5p]

The number of interesting dwarf novae showing outburst activity seems
endless these days. This time, AW Sge, a little studied object with
very rare outbursts, manifests itself. Jochen Pietz, Erftstadts,
Germany reports his visual detection of an outburst of AW Sge.
Confirmation came from Taichi Kato, Ouda Observatory, Japan (CCD).
Available observations :
1996 Sep 16.822 UT, [14.3 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., seq: TA);
Sep 16.841 UT, [14.5 (J. Day, seq: TA);
Sep 16.913 UT, [14.5 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., seq: TA);
Sep 17.90 UT, 15.0: (J. Pietz, 0.3-m refl.);
Sep 17.936 UT, [14.5 (G. Poyner);
Sep 18 UT, 15.5 (T. Kato, preliminary result, seq: GSC);
Sep 18.79 UT, 15.3 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-mSCT+CCD, unfilt.);
The Outburst Activity Database contains no entries of past outburst
observations of this star, which is part of the TA/BAAVSS Recurrent
Objects Programme.
IP Peg [UGSS+E, 12.0B - 16.6B]

Taichi Kato, Ouda Observatory, Japan has detected an outburst of
this eclipsing dwarf nova. Several observers have confirmed his
observation. Here's a selection of observations :
1996 Sep 16.928 UT, [15.0 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl.);
Sep 16.93 UT, [15.3 (J. Pietz, 0.3-m refl.);
Sep 17.509 UT, 13.23V (T. Kato, 0.60-m refl.+CCD, V filter);
Sep 17.82 UT, 13.2 (J. Pietz, 0.3-m refl.);
Sep 17.823 UT, 13.3 (G. Poyner);
According to the Outburst Activity Database, the previous outburst
of IP Peg was observed on June 16, 1996 by Diepvens, Gunther, Overbeek
a/o, when the object reached mag. 12.0.
