I have searched through the IRAS PSC for possible identification of this
suspected variable, but have yielded none. Considering a rather low 12 micron
upper limit given for the near-by source, the variable seems to have been
undetected in 12 micron. Since 11-th mag red star is usually detected in
this band, the probablity of a red variable (esp. one with hot dust) seems to
be small.
