CIRCULAR 100
============
This circular marks the 100th Cataclysmic Variables Circular. Our
first issue was released on May 3, 1994 and was sent to 17 sub-
scribers. It contained news on DM Lyrae and IR Lyrae. The present
issue is sent to 38 subscribers in 14 different countries.
An annual report, describing the CVAP activity between May 1995
and May 1996 is in preparation and will be released shortly.
Var25 Oph [UG, 15.0 - <21.0p]
=============================
We have been informed, through VSNET, about the detection by M. Iida
(Nagano, Japan) of an outburst of Var25 Oph on a CCD image obtained
on July 12, 1996. A confirmative CCD observation is reported by
T. Vanmunster, CBA Belgium. Available observations :
1996 Jul 10.992 UT, [15.0 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual);
Jul 12.515 UT, 16.0 (M. Iida, 0.20-m SCT + ST-6 CCD, unfilt.);
Jul 13.904 UT, 16.4 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-m SCT + ST-7, unfilt.);
The discovery of Var25 Oph as a UG-type cataclysmic variable recently
has been announced in IBVS 4344 by Antipin. The object, which has been
added to the Belgian CVAP, is located at R.A. = 18h04m17s.3 and decl.=
+4d43'44" (J2000.0).
Var25 Oph was last seen in outburst on May 15, 1990 at mag 14.9p.
Follow-up observations do determine outburst behaviour, dwarf nova
subclass and cycle length are highly required.
