KW And [UG, 14.8p - 22p]
========================
Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium has detected a rare outburst of
KW And (CVAP object). It has been confirmed by Eric Broens, Mol,
Belgium. These are the observations :
1996 Mar 09.810 UT, [14.7 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., seq: GSC);
Mar 10.822 UT, 15.0 (T. Vanmunster);
Mar 10.831 UT, 14.8 (E. Broens, 0.35-m refl., seq: GSC);
A GSC-based sequence of KW And is available on the Cataclysmic
Variables Home Page. Both observers have used the 14.7 comparison star
to the W of KW And, which very likely is about half a magnitude
brighter than indicated.
KW And is located at: R.A. = 02h35m18.12s, Decl. = +41d14'01.6"
(J2000.0). It is included in Steve Howell's list of possible TOAD
objects.
According to the Outburst Activity Database on Selected Cataclysmic
Variables, KW And was last reported in outburst by M. Iida on October
14, 1994, when the object reached mag. 15.3 (CCD observation) [CVC 19].
