Dear Bernard Candela,
The field "Xyz" requires observer's name or code. [Many variable star
organizations have traditionally given a 3-letter code for a observer
(for example, "Kat" for myself in VSOLJ)].
For CCD or photoelectric observations, the format given in the welcome
mail may not be sufficient. In these observations, please use explicitly
the decimal point. An option of the color system ('C' for unfilterd CCD)
can be added immediately following the digits. Just like this:
CASnova1995 960118.73984 9.51C B.Candela
=
(very minute point: use the lower case letter for nova names)
Posted observatios conforming to this format will be processed auto-
matically and will be reflected to the VSNET real-time light curve serveice,
which is now under tentative operation. Of course reports in other formats
are equally valuable, but we have no programs to process different formats.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Regards,
Taichi Kato (VSNET sub-manager)
