Dear Colleagues,
In 2 recent reports to vsnet I have reported positive
observations of V630 Cyg.
These 2 observations are unfortunately incorrect.
It worried me that I got a positive observation and Tonny
Vanmunster got a negative at the same time.
I checked the chart material.
I normally use the AAVSO e chart for my observations of V630 Cyg.
The position of V630 Cyg on that chart is wrong!!
Checking different charts I got the following result:
AAVSO e chart revision 4/82, position wrong
AAVSO f chart revision 4/82, position correct
TA c chart revision 900327, the main chart has wrong position, the
magnification the correct.
vsnet, position correct
Downes&Shara, position correct.
The star I have observed as V630 Cyg recently is the star marked at mag 15.6
at some
charts. I normally don't reach beyond mag. 15.0. So maybe this star is
variable?
I still miss my first positive observation of V630 Cyg :-(
But now when I know where to look the probability of seeing a
real outburst increases!!
V632 Cyg. I know of the revised position for this object.
Sorry for the mistake.
Regards
Lasse Teist Jensen (JLT)
