[vsnet-obs 631] PG 1510+234

Dear VSNET Group,
Further to the e-mail by Taichi Kato of May 28, during my
monthly visit to the RAS library in London, I referred back
to the Palomar Green Catalog (ApJS 61,305, 1986 June) and
found PG 1510+234 has a catalogued position of:
RA 15h10m50s DEC +23 26'12"[1950]
I calculate the [2000] position as:
RA 15h13m02s DEC +23 15'01"[2000]
This appears within the errors quoted for the measured
position of the outburst object recorded by M.Iida.
Further I also found the object on Plate 26 of the same
paper. There seems little doubt that the star recorded
in outburst according to the VSNET chart and that labelled
in the Palomar Green plate are the same.
The star NSV 06990 was formerly CSV 002294. I could not
trace the article for this original designation on which
presumably the RR type was proposed.
Finally I noted the PG star is mentioned in a new paper
'Time-Resolved CCD Photometry of a Sample of Palomar-
Green Cataclysmic Variable Candidates ' by Misselt et al.
Astron.J. 109(4) of 1995 April.
They mention that PG 1510+234 shows no obvious periodicity
although their observations do show large scale brightness
variations on time scales of days.
regards,
Guy
