(fwd) Re: SDSS J040714.8-064425 (Monard) Date: Mon, 20 Oct 2003 11:04:57 +0200 From: "Berto Monard" <lagmonar@csir.co.za> Stormy weather and (finally) some good rain prevented any further observations since. There is much good reason to follow up on this SDSS target. Arne's observations covered the quiescent state if I'm not mistaken. It is not impossible that my reported 0.5 mag eclipse during one of the active states was indeed something else, perhaps a reflection effect as Taichi stated since the observation that night was less then .17 d long. But then nowhere else did an amplitude of that size occur during any of the other observations except during the eclipses. The humps seen might indeed be other than S/humps but let's not disregard the IMO possible case that the eclipses could be large during quiescense, small during an active state and very large during a highly active state. I suggest awaiting further observing results... Regards, Berto / CBA Pretoria PS thanks Arne, for the sequence!
