Having looked at the period and variation, the star looks like an active eclipsing SS Cyg-type dwarf nova, resembling EX Dra with P=0.210 d. (Berto, you will be surprized to see this northern exceptionally bright! counterpart). The eclipsing SS Cyg-type dwarf nova with similar periods (such as U Gem and IP Peg) tend to show similar hump-like features, but the reality of genuine superhumps has not yet been confirmed. I suspect that the SDSS object is an SS Cyg-type star with alternating (with some irregularity) wide and narrow outbursts. Phase 0.5 hump feature with unfiltered photometry is often a reflection effect, be cautious! Regards, Taichi Kato
