An M0 star (Nesterov+ 1995) in Carina, close to the recently reported HD
97671 is also variable.
It is HDE 306159 at 11h 12m 23.87s -60º 22' 43.3" (2000.0)
ASAS-3 data show a range from 8.24 to 8.51 and variable mean magnitude.
It seems to be a very reddened star from Tycho data although Tycho-1 color
(B-V ~2.7) seems a little exagerated (Anyway, there is not a published
conversion from Bessell (2000) for such colors)
Tycho-2= V= 8.24; B-V= 2.05
Searching within the noise in Tycho-1 Epoch data, there seems to be a 0.25
mag. variability between 8.2 and 8.45 (V), which is consistent with ASAS-3
data.
Type= SRa
V= 8.2 - 8.51
Period: ~73 days
Regards,
Sebastian.
