Dear colleagues, I am Seiichi Yoshida, working on the MISAO Project. A possible eclipsing variable near by GRB 030329 was reported in GCN 2056. http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn3/2056.gcn3 We confirmed its eclipsing variation from unfiltered CCD images taken on Mar. 29 by Ken-ichi Kadota. It is recorded in the Henden's photometry: http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/grb/grb030329.dat as 13.324 mag(V), B-V=0.226, U-B=-0.062, V-R=0.137, R-I=0.161. The 2MASS data says 12.694 mag(J), 12.559 mag(H), 12.516 mag(Ks). John Greaves commented that it will be a short period EW star. The 2MASS colours suggest that the object is late F spectral type, whilst Henden's colours suggest late A or even earlier, maybe due to the variation. Our light curve: http://vsnet.aerith.net/misao/report/variable/GCN2056_var.gif also suggests it as an EW type eclipsing variable.
