[vsnet-newvar 1796] [vsnet-campaign-xray 175] Re: In search of the XTE J1720-318optical counterpart



Dear Taichi,

Thanks for the 2MASS advice. It killed all candidate counterparts, all
five of them!
They turned out to be bright 2MASS objects, hidden away on each field
image I got my hands on, except that of last night's observation.
For inspecting unfiltered observations, it is so necessary to have NIR
data.

I'll send you the image later.

   This field has publicly available 2MASS scans.  We would also
appreciate
in receiving your FITS images (via personal e-mails) for further
examination.
