Subject: re Haseda's latest/current possible nova
I'm sending this info on at a just in case level, but you're both
probably aware of the following by now.
Trouble is, I can't get into the NOFS pixel server to get archive
plate images to look at things further, which could be a problem with
my system, probably due to a java engine too many installed or
something. Yourselves may have no such problems.
Anyway, given Doug West's position of 19 01 09.38 -22 00 05.9 there
is a _very close_ fit with GSC 2.2 and USNO A 2.0 and 2MASS
candidates (apparently too faint/blue for UCAC1), all with end
figures of 09.2-09.3s and 6" in RA and Dec respectively.
GSC2.2
Fmag 17.05 +/- 0.45
Jmag 17.71 +/- 0.43
USNO A2.0
red mag: 16.7
blue mag: 17.0
2MASS
J 16.37 +/- 0.09
H 15.84:
Ks 16.97:
Crudely estimated V mag is 16.8 from USNO A2.0 transform and 16.85
from GSC 2.2 (Guide 8 / Bill Gray).
All in all looking a little colourless to blue (given probable
reddening in the field it is in).
???12 mags outburst climb a bit bright for a CV, except possibly
WZSge "subclass"???
Anyway, there it is
Cheers
