Dear colleagues! I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (Brh V71), which I have discovered in a systematic CCD-based search for new variables. In each observing run typically 400 images are taken of several survey fields. The frames are processed automatically. Instruments: CCD-camera:Starlight Xpress SX (unfiltered) Telescope: Celestron-8 (20 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain) New variable star: new Brh V71 072936.8 +163801 (J2000) 12.2 12.6 (CCD) SR comments: Brh V71: GSC 1360 1358; Comparison star was for all measurements GSC 1360 1449 (11.3 mag), which was checked to be constant. The red colour (USNO A 2.0: r:12.6, b:15.6) and the apparently slow variation in brightness suggest a SR-variable. object YYMMDD(UT) mag (CCD) code Brh V71 001221.0664 12.53 Brh.BAV Brh V71 001223.0386 12.65 Brh.BAV Brh V71 001224.0324 12.52 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010114.9664 12.45 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010116.0685 12.40 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010224.8990 12.33 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010301.8576 12.36 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010301.8581 12.33 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010324.8660 12.44 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010324.8665 12.37 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010328.8215 12.44 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010328.8220 12.42 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010401.7993 12.51 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010401.7998 12.45 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010401.8003 12.48 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010405.7993 12.37 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010405.7998 12.43 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010405.8003 12.47 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010409.8042 12.35 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010409.8047 12.36 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010409.8052 12.40 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010426.8188 12.27 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010426.8193 12.29 Brh.BAV Brh V71 010426.8198 12.24 Brh.BAV Regards, Klaus Bernhard Klaus Bernhard Kafkaweg 5 A-4030 LINZ AUSTRIA kl.bernhard@aon.at http://mitglied.tripod.de/KlausBernhard/index.html
