Dear colleagues! I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (BeV61), which I have discovered in a systematic CCD-based search for new variables. In each observing run typically 400 images are taken of several survey fields. The frames are processed automatically. Instruments: CCD-camera:Starlight Xpress SX (unfiltered) Telescope: Celestron-8 (20 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain) New variable star: new BeV61 181600.2 +040540.6 (J2000) 11.7 12.0 (CCD) SR comments: BeV61: GSC 440 1688 Comparison star was for all measurements GSC 440 1224 (11.7 mag), which was checked to be constant. The apparently slow change in brightness and the red colour (USNO A2.0 r:11.6 mag, b:14.4 mag) suggest a SR-variable. object YYMMDD(UT) mag (CCD) code BeV61 000702.9468 11.76 BRH.BAV BeV61 000706.9482 11.82 BRH.BAV BeV61 000717.9239 12.02 BRH.BAV BeV61 000722.9329 11.95 BRH.BAV BeV61 000731.9287 11.81 BRH.BAV BeV61 000801.9170 11.88 BRH.BAV BeV61 000809.9315 11.85 BRH.BAV BeV61 000811.8954 11.83 BRH.BAV BeV61 000814.8975 11.79 BRH.BAV BeV61 000819.8885 11.80 BRH.BAV BeV61 000820.8913 11.76 BRH.BAV BeV61 000826.8048 11.78 BRH.BAV BeV61 000826.8055 11.78 BRH.BAV BeV61 000826.8062 11.79 BRH.BAV BeV61 000901.8076 11.75 BRH.BAV BeV61 000901.8090 11.80 BRH.BAV BeV61 000901.8104 11.72 BRH.BAV BeV61 000904.8576 11.78 BRH.BAV BeV61 000904.8590 11.77 BRH.BAV BeV61 000904.8604 11.76 BRH.BAV Regards, Klaus Bernhard Klaus Bernhard Kafkaweg 5 A-4030 LINZ AUSTRIA e-mail: kl.bernhard@aon.at
