Dear colleagues! I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (BeV44), which I have discovered in a systematic CCD-based search for new variables. In each observing run typically 400 images are taken of several survey fields. The frames are processed automatically. Instruments: CCD-camera:Starlight Xpress SX (unfiltered) Telescope: Celestron-8 (20 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain) New variable star: new BeV44 114545.5 +115208 (J2000) 13.4 14.2(CCD) comments: BeV44: GSC 867 545 Comparison star was for all measurements GSC 867 289 (13.0 mag), which was checked to be constant. Data analysis was made by Chris Lloyd, UK. His comment: It shows a strong series of period at about equal strength, however I suspect it may be an RR Lyrae with a period about 0.68 days. object YYMMDD(UT) mag (CCD) code BeV44 000505.9000 14.18 BRH.BAV BeV44 000506.9062 13.90 BRH.BAV BeV44 000507.8979 14.16 BRH.BAV BeV44 000510.8882 13.68 BRH.BAV BeV44 000513.9173 14.06 BRH.BAV BeV44 000514.9027 13.38 BRH.BAV BeV44 000516.9159 13.40 BRH.BAV Regards, Klaus Bernhard Klaus Bernhard Kafkaweg 5 A-4030 LINZ AUSTRIA e-mail: klaus.bernhard@vpn.at
