New Haseda variable (HadV49) Katsumi Haseda (Aichi, Japan) reports the discovery of a new variable star (HadV49). HadV49 = 181147.2 -292025 (2000.0), Haseda's original report No cataloged object. H. Yamaoka (Kyushu University) reports the possible counterpart on DSS1(Bj) and 2(R), whose approximate coordinates are 181147.01 -292024.0 (2000.0). This star is not present in USNO catalogs. Yamaoka reports that the star is brighter on DSS2(R) than on DSS1(Bj, faint). Although the object is missing in IRAS surveys (unless the object falls outside the almost complete survey area of the IRAS, 11.9-mag Mira-star is rarely missing), the star looks like a Mira-type variable with a large amplitude. However, possibilities still exist than HadV49 may be an other type of variable star with a large amplitude. Follow-up observations (even direct unfiltered CCD imaging would be useful; multicolor photometry is more welcome) are encouraged during the present bright state.
