Dear colleagues, New variable star discovery by the MISAO Project (MisV0841). MisV0841 R.A. 17h59m36s.68 Decl. -32o42'00".0 (2000.0) Mag. 12.5C-13.8C Type ? = USNO-A2.0_0525.31193311 17 59 36.751 -32 42 02.57 16.1R 19.3B = IRAS 17563-3241 R.A.=17 59 35.42 Decl.=-32 42 04.0 (37 x 8", p.a.=91) flux(12)=4.29 flux(25)=2.69 flux(60)=<2.16 flux(100)=<47.53 99% variable http://vsnet.aerith.net/misao/data/MisV/MisV0841.gif MisV0841 19990520.68679 126C Mis MisV0841 19990520.68723 125C Mis MisV0841 20000224.84394 137C Mis MisV0841 20000224.84450 138C Mis It was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new variable stars from images taken by KenIchi Kadota, Ageo City, Saitama, Japan, then confirmed by Seiichi Yoshida. The magnitude are measured automatically by the PIXY system. Image observers' names are noted after "Mis", except for ones taken by KenIchi Kadota. V993 Sgr is 2.4 arcmin from MisV0841. No star brighter than 14.5 mag was detected at the cataloged position of V993 Sgr. However, V993 Sgr is an ecliptic variable star between 13.1 - 14.1 mag. On the other hand, MisV0841 is probably a red variable, considering the color in the USNO-A2.0 catalog and the identification with IRAS 17563-3241. Therefore, MisV0841 is probably another new variable star.
