(fwd) MISAO variables (Greaves) Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 14:14:55 +0000 From: JG <jgts@jgws.totalserve.co.uk> Subject: MISAO variables Dear VSNETters For those interested in 'new' variables and, like myself, utilise the Guide charting software by Project Pluto, find attached data that will enable people with that program to plot charts and examine the fields around 821 MISAO variables as gleaned from the www.aerith.net MISAO home site. The files are zipped and should be extracted to the user's guide directory. The .etb file allows a quick 'go to' route. The .tdf and .dat file combined assist in plotting the objects at their listed MISAO positions as 'orange-ish' crosses [exact colour is monitor model & vga card dependent]. 'More info' on the objects is available via the usual right click means. For users of other programs, I'm sorry, I only use Guide (and a recent update to version 7 will be necessary [www.projectpluto.com]). Having as many datasets as possible in the program 'toggled' on enables users to have a 'poor man's' Vizier for first level investigations: expensive on-line time can then be restricted to the [user defined] more promising/interesting candidates. A 'bonus, file, TAV.etb, is included which enables users to easily 'go to' the subset of 'The Astronomer' variables that are also included in the NSV supplement. A dataset for the latter will be needed for further investigation, however [www.projectpluto.com then 'Added datasets']. Cheers John John Greaves UK --- The file is placed at: http://ftp.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/pub/vsnet/others/TmzV/Misao.zip (The directory name is a mere consequence of the TmzV precedence).
