[vsnet-lpv 78] Observations of semiregulars near Polaris

Dear all,

in the last 1.5 year me and Lubos Brat have been commiting
observations of some neglected semiregular variable stars
near the North pole. Some preliminary results are summarised
here and also at http://var.astro.cz/pejcha/polaris.

According to GCVS, AD Cep is a SR star with variations
between 10.8 and 15.5 mag (pg), period of 166 days and
spectrum M6.5 - M8. DFT on our observations suggests period
of 167 days but there is probably a second period of 313
days which makes every second minimum deeper. Also, the
range of variability is smaller.

According to GCVS, FF Cep is a SRa star with period of 185
days and range of variability 10.3 - 11.2 mag (pg), spectrum
M. DFT on our data suggests 190 day period, in perfect
agreement with GCVS.

According to GCVS, OU Cep is a SR star with range 11.1 -
12.0 (pg), unknown period and spectrum M8. DFT on our
observations suggest period of 127 days.

According to GCVS, CW Dra is a Lb: star with range 10.8 -
11.7 (pg) and spectrum M8. Our observations are just
scatter. Further observations are needed.

According to GCVS, IQ Dra is a SRb: star discovered by
Hipparcos with range of 8.47 - 8.95 mag (Hp). There can be
some variations in our data, but we do not believe them
much.

Nice rest of Christmas,

Ondrej Pejcha
