    Livne and Arnett (1995) used a 2-D model to follow the ignition.
However, it seems to be a question whether this is always true in 3-D
cases.  Garcia-Senz et al. (1999) A&A 349, 177 show some results of
3-D calculations and succeeded in reproduced double detonations, but
they also stated that the evolution is sensitive to initial conditions.
(As I'm not an expert of this field, I'm not sure this is an adequate
reference).
