[vsnet-id 714] CGHA stars



     This list contains accurate coordinates and IDs for 81 emission-line
stars found by McCarthy in a field in northern Cygnus (1976VatOP...1..213M).
All the stars are included in SIMBAD with coordinates of various accuracy.
McCarthy gave semi-accurate (0'.1) positions, but no charts, which proved
problematic in some cases for this extremely crowded field.
     The stars include a mix of genuine early-type H-alpha emission stars and
late-type stars probably mostly _without_ emission (the TiO bandhead at 6544A
being mistaken for H-alpha emission).  Some of the stars claimed to be of late
spectral type by McCarthy are instead rather blue ("not red" in the remarks).
     I have given V or mv magnitudes as a guide in identification, which I
have estimated when photoelectric photometry is not available.  N.B. that some
stars in GSC region 3588- have five-digit serial numbers; this is the only
GSC small-region with more than 10,000 entries.
     A complete revision of the Vatican VES star-list is underway.
