Here are improved coordinates for variables reported by Baade in 1928 (1928AN....232...65B), and which I worked over a few years ago in the IBVS. (1997IBVS.4459....1S). The positions I gave were from USNO-A1.0 and UJ1.0 (also from USNO-Flagstaff, but never published). Both used the obsolete GSC v1.1 as the reference frame. The positions shown here are mostly from the Tycho-based USNO-A2.0 and 2MASS, with several additional post-Hipparcos sources for a few stars as indicated below. Apart from a single star, the coordinates are now all on the ICRF system with uncertainties of ~0".3 or less. One star, FZ Cyg, was slightly misidentified previously, and the 2MASS position is about 8" from my original one. While checking the identification of NSV 12597, I found that the double star in which the variable is involved has quite substantial proper motion, noticeable on comparing the POSS-I/II scans. \Brian
