Most of stellar atmospheres have peak emissions around 0.5 micron (Sun)
to 1 micron (M-type stars). So they are "blue" as seen from the mid-to-far
infrared observations. If an object is not blue in this sense, such an
object has an infrared excess. The term "blue" does not mean it has a
hot (in the visual sense) component.
