[vsnet-id 419] NSV5602 is a high proper motion M4 dwarf.

Recently one of our Australian observers, Colin Bembrick (NSW),
took a CCD image of the field of NSV 5602. He reports that it was difficult
to identify the field, compared to a chart printed from Guide7, as NSV 5602
was missing, and also 2 or 3 nearby GSC stars were often missing from rather
old photos of the region. I have looked into this puzzle, and it turns out
that NSV 5602 = HIP 60559 = GL 465 = LHS 45. Its high pm of -2.3"/year in
dec, and +0.077s/year in RA carries it southwards and slightly E fairly
rapidly. Some positions, taken at different epochs are as follows: All
refer to equinox J2000.

1954 Mar 07 : 12h24m48.98s -182'46.6" USNO-A2.0 .Close to original
NSV position.
1979 June 15 50.82 13 45.3 GSC6105.945
1984 Mar 06 51.20 13 56.6 GSC6105.453
2001 Mar 26 52.60 14 35.1 HIP 60559 =
GSC6105.1620, correct at current date.

All four positions refer to the same star. The three GSC objects are
displayed simultaneously by Guide7, which can result in confusion. NSV
5602 lies about 1 degree east of TV Corvi = Tombaugh's star.

HIP 60559. Mag: 11.28V, B-V +1.57. Spectrum = M4.
