This was initially logged as Q1991/47 when Mirko Villi of Italy reported
in June of 1991 that star 2 on the The Astronomer chart for SN 1969B in
NGC 3556 might be variable. The original chart dated 1985 April 6 was
based on Ciatti (1971) and AAVSO (e).
On 1991 Oct 27, in the latest revision to the chart, star 2 had been
removed as a comparison and TASV 1108+55 substituted since the chart
continued to be used for supernova search purposes and we did not wish
patrollers using star 2 again for any estimates of a new supernova.
I have today compared the original papers in the library of TA with
Guide 7. This confirms the identification as GSC 3827 308 at:
RA 11h10m59s DEC +55 38.7' (2000). Mags 12.59 and 12.44 on different
scans.
The chart has been further updated with this information today.
I hope this helps to solve the identification query you raised.
