a goodly percentage of "new variables" are thus found, inclusive of
Takamizawa & Haseda objects, among others. No problems with those to speak
of, mindst.

when the professionals' robot surveys finally kick in, some amateurs will
have to get their acts together anyway re new variables. It is a thought to
be at least halfway prepared for that eventuality.

Some automated surveys may also soon outdo amateurs re novae and SNe
(starting to for the latter), akin to LINEAR & comets, though in truth I'm
not so sure on that one for novae. However, it may leave amateur
photographic patrols in need of summat else to do, eg new var searches as
primary, not secondary, task.
