I have examined Dorothea Roberts' 1914 report in the "Astronomische
Nachrichten" 197, 57. This includes a reproduction of the April 1904 plate
along with some annotations about the mysterious mag. 13-14 star. The position
given is derived with reference to Astrographic Catalogue stars measured by
Roberts and reduced by Pourteau: 10 07 04.84 +73 55 48.1 (1900), which
precesses to 10 15 40.6 +73 26 04 (2000). Comparison of the plate with the
DSS indicates that the object is indeed CP Dra, visible at about red mag. 19
on the POSS-I plate at: 10 15 39.8 + 73 26 06 (2000) by my estimate using a
SkyView image. The star is not in USNO-A2.0, but visible without difficulty
on the DSS image. (It is neither in the AC2000 or GSC.) I note that the
Downes & Shara chart does not really show the object, and even the 1997 edition
does not give a precise position.
