[vsnet-id 177] Re: V1575 Sgr



     In response to Yamaoka-san's query about V1575 Sgr, I can confirm the
position sent to me separately by Ron Webbink, which he measured on the
short-exposure GSC plate:

V1575 Sgr   18 11 52.69  -29 25 39.4 (2000)

...as corresponding exactly to Ponsen's chart in Leiden Annals, vol. 20,
no. 16, page 397 (1955).  The GCVS position is somewhat in error.
     Webbink notes that the star does not appear in the GSC, AC, or USNOAx.x.
The digital plate scans for this region are utterly saturated with stars, so
it is not surprising that it is not in the USNO-A series.  Perhaps someone
could look in the UCAC to see if it shows up there.
