[vsnet-id 155] KP Cas found

In trying to confirm the identification of the dwarf nova KP Cas, I have
found that the star is in outburst on the POSS-II J plate of the region. It
appears at mag. 15.5-16, evidently near maximum. The star is readily
identifiable with a very blue star in USNO-A2.0 at: 0 38 54.70 +61 12 59.9
(2000), given there with mb=18.1 and mr=18.3.
Both the Downes & Shara 1993 atlas and the Downes, Webbink, & Shara 1997
atlas come close but miss the CV in both cases. In the 1993 atlas their chart
marks the companion immediately northwest of the CV, and in the 1997 atlas a
very faint star southeast of the variable is indicated. The GCVS v4.1 retains
an old position that is some 2'.5 in error.
