Dear colleagues, > Subject: [vsnet-newvar 510] MisV0041 and 2MASS > MisV0041 was classified as a red variable based on the likely > identification with an IRAS source. An examination of the 2MASS PSC > has proven MisV0041 is not listed, but there is a close eastern bright > 2MASS object. This object could be also identified with the IRAS source. > Astrometric examination of MisV0041 may be necessary. Here are the raw astrometry of MisV0041 measured by the PIXY system using USNO-A1.0 from four-night images taken by kenIchi Kadota. 17 59 48.94 -29 35 40.2 14.5mag 17 59 49.03 -29 35 39.7 14.4mag 17 59 48.86 -29 35 39.4 14.6mag 17 59 50.18 -29 35 41.1 12.6mag 17 59 50.10 -29 35 41.6 12.6mag 17 59 50.14 -29 35 41.3 12.5mag 17 59 48.96 -29 35 40.7 14.5mag 17 59 49.05 -29 35 39.8 14.4mag The scatter of the position is large. But the position measured when MisV0041 is bright well corresponds one another. So the true position may be: 17 59 50.14 -29 35 41.3 In that case, the position is very similar to that of the 2MASS data. I think I have to update the MisV list. Many thanks to Kato-san for the research. Best regards, -- Seiichi Yoshida comet@aerith.net http://vsnet.aerith.net/
