IR GEMINORUM IN OUTBURST?
The American observer Karl Misselt has reported in the sci.astro news
group that the dwarf nova IR Geminorum was seen in outburst on Dec. 19
07h48m UT. Oernulf Midtskogen has reported that it was not seen and

IR Geminorum is a SU UMa-type dwarf nova with short outbursts which only
last for a couple of days and longer and brighter outburts, called super-
maxima, which are about a magnitude brighter and lasts for 1-2 weeks.

According to the General Catalogue of Variable Stars, 4th edition, IR Gem
varies from V = 10.7 to fainter than 14.5. The mean period is 35 days. It
is located at RA = 06h 44m 26s, Decl. = +28d 09'.7 (1950.0). The
corresponding position for 2000.0 is: 06h 47m 35s, +28d 06'.4.
