Date: Fri, 17 Dec 93 11:08:43 EST From: pedro@goodricke.astro.upenn.edu (Pedro Saizar) Subject: Polarimetry on Nova Cas 1993 R. H. Koch measured the polarization of N Cas93 on the night of 16 Dec. Four broad-band filters were used with a 0.72-m reflector. The results follow with the parenthesized numbers being 1-sigma values): Red: 2.17(0.05)% @ 62.3(0.5)D; Green: 2.30(0.05)% @ 61.5(0.5)D; Blue: 2.13(0.05)% @ 61.5(0.5)D; Violet: 1.54(0.05)% @ 63.1(0.5)D. Just last week we had changed the input pre-amp and the calibration for p is not yet so solid as intended. Therefore, there could be a zero-point correction to the p-values but we do not have this quantified today. There should be no systematic error in the theta values.
