Subject: Nova Cassiopeiae 1993

Colleagues,

IAUC 5902 reports the discovery of a new nova in Cassiopeia on December 7
with confirmation on December 11.  The position as measured by K. Kawanishi
is as follows:

R.A. =  23h39m22s.36
Decl. = +57d14'23".7 (1950.0)

On December 11.65, the nova was estimated to be of visual magnitude 6.4.
No spectroscopic observations have been reported thus far.
