[vsnet-history 1870] rare outburst of LL And

(1993 Dec. 8)

subject: rare outburst of LL And

Probable dwarf nova LL And is undergoing rare outburst (first detection
since its discovery in 1979) as indicated by the following reports.
The star is suspected to be a SU UMa-type dwarf nova. Time-resolved
photometry is strongly recommended.

Very rough position is assigned for this object in GCVS. Tentative
identification (not yet confirmed by the persent outburst) on CCD images
taken by T. Kato gives a 19-th magnitude candidate in quiescence located at

    00h 39m 12.s82 +26deg 20' 57".7 (1950) LL And UG? 13-(17V.

A finding chart around this variable can be found in Publ. Astron. Soc.
Pacific. 105, 127 (1993).

Taichi Kato
