I have just looked at the FSPACE CV Circulars, for 9308, Nos. 9, 10, and 11.
(send 27 Nov 1993), compiled by Y. Watanabe (VSOLJ, FSPACE). I found more
familiar objects:
PG1712+493 and PG2315+071, both observed by M. Moriyama, are not CVs.
PG1712+493 is the central star of the well-studied planetary nebula, PK
075+35 1 = PN Sa 4-1 (see Sanduleak, N. 1983, PASP, 95, 619, and compare
the finding chart with that given by Green, Schmidt, & Liebert, 1986,
ApJS, 61, 305). PG2315+071 is probably a detached close binary, with a
composite spectrum from sdB+sdG stars. It is unlikely Mr. Moriyama will
see any variation in these, but if he does, it will be interesting, pehaps
indicating illumination effects in close binary systems.
V1193 Ori, which is observed by T. Kato, is a nova-like. Little variation
is therefore expected. However, it is still interesting, since in a paper
of mine that was recently accepted by the MNRAS, I reported spectroscopic
changes between one observing run in 1988, and another in 1989. It will
therefore be interesting to see just how much this star does vary.
PG2133+115, observed by M.Moriyama, has never been monitored, so I
encourage further observations. Its spectrum resembles that of a nova-like
such as UX UMa, or a dwarf nova in outburst. If you could, would you
please e-mail me a copy of this lightcurve?
