subject: UY Vul
Dear Gary,
I think UY Vul is not a very adequate target for monitoring
dwarf nova outbursts. The star is an IRAS source (therefore a red
object) and I suspect it to be an SR variable. UZ Vul and HN Cyg
are also included in IRAS PSC. Although it is not known why they
were originally classified as UG stars (any outburst-like variation?),
we have not included them in our primary targets for general CV
monitoring.
I am sorry I have been too busy and lazy in supplying information
on these stars. I would be grateful if you could relay this message
to Tony Vanmunster. Thank you.
One thing, your observations of FG Ser are two magnitude brighter than
our estimates. Would you please check the chart?
Regards,
Taichi Kato
