       ***** PHOTOMETRIC OBSERVATIONS OF 2318+17 IP PEGASI *****

The dwarf nova IP Pegasi is currently in outburst. It was first reported in
outburst by the Belgian observer Paul Van Cauteren on August 19 22h 48m U.T.
This is an interesting system as it shows eclipses during maxima. The only
other northern dwarf nova with this behaviour is HT Cassiopeiae. Observers
are encouraged to monitor this system in order to detect and describe the
behaviour of the eclipses. Measurements with photoelectric photometers and
CCD cameras are especially welcome. The orbital period of the system is
3h 48m. The following observations indicate that no eclipses have yet been
detected:

Time system are in Universal Time. Magnitude systems (MV): mv = visual.
ACCU = estimated accuracy of observation in magnitudes. Instruments
(apertures in mm): M = reflector, C = Schmidt-Cassegrain. Sequence (SEQ):
AC = AAVSO chart. The phase has been calculated from
                   J.D. - 244 9199.5
     PHASE = FRAC [-----------------]
                       3.80 / 24
where FRAC denotes the fractional part of the expression.

The times of mid eclipses do probably occur between phases 0.259 and 0.417.

                                                   Bjorn H. Granslo
