Hello Chris, Janet,

ORFEUS launch was scrubbed again on Saturday 7/24. No new
launch date scheduled; August 2 or 3 is probably the earliest possible.

Sorry I haven't been keeping you better informed on detailed
launch proceedings and potential observing times. One problem is that
the launch itself keeps wriggling away. A second is that the deployment
of ORFEUS depends on when within the launch window the orbiter actually
leaves the ground. If we launch early in the window, then ORFEUS is
deployed around 24 hours after launch. If we launch late, then deployment
is around 48 hours after launch. Detailed planning (synchronization with
IUE, etc.) is difficult I know - it's also difficult to plan the ORFEUS
observing time line under these circumstances.

Thanks to both of you and the amateurs for your ongoing support.
We'll get it up there one of these days.

-Mark Hurwitz
