Date: Tue, 9 Mar 93 14:25:06 CST From: bryan@astro.as.utexas.edu (James Bryan) Subject: email A friend mentioned that you have started a "nova network"; when I saw my mail today, I found your test message. Obviously, I'm on your list-- thanks very much. Presumably, your purpose is to handle any news that's fit to print about novae. I search for M31 and M33 novae and pass along candidates to interested observers. Do you consider such objects too far afield to be of interest to your addressees? May I submit confirmed sightings? If you have not already included them on your list, you might want to communicate with N. N. Samus, A. S. Sharov, and M. S. Frolov at the Sternberg Astronomical Institute in Moscow. Sharov has been doing M31 novae for some time. Recently, they asked for positions for all my sightings for use in GCVS. They would probably like to hear from you. If you haven't sent email to Russia on a regular basis, here are some pointers: 1. Send more than one copy of your message--almost 40% of my messages just disappear. 2. Keep the message short, like one screen--long messages tend to disappear. 3. Apparently, individuals do not have separate email addresses; there is one address for SAI. Identify the recipient in your "subject" line. James Bryan
