subject: CY UMa update
CY UMa
Reanalysis of the data obtained from 1992 Jan 1 through Jan 4
(just following the superouburst in 1991 Dec) confirms a period of
0.07245 day. The star varied V=15.9-16.5 then, which was 1.5 mag
above the normal quiescent state (V=17.7). The period is in good
agreement with the present superhump period (and probably not the
orbital one). From these observations the superhump period of CY UMa
is improved to be 0.0724 +/- 0.0001 day. Close attention should
be paid on this object for the coming nights to see whether such
enhanced brightness continues following the present superoutburst.
