REPORTS CONCERNING THE RECENT ACTIVITY OF IP PEGASI
---------------------------------------------------

Guy M. Hurst, The Astronomer Magazine (1993 Feb 2):
"Dear TAGRP. We have received an alert from USA of possible activity in
this star. Does anyone have observations tonight or on any recent dates
please? Data urgently needed for professionals."

Margareta Westlund, Svensk Amat|rAstronomisk F|rening (1993 Feb 5):
"Isvindar och fullm}ne, men en kort tur mest f|r IP Pegasis skull
Feb 5 Meade 8" UT+1h. Negative: IP Peg <12,2 at 18.41."

Taichi Kato, Variable Star Observers League of Japan (1993 Feb 6):
"Visual magnitude estimates by VSOLJ members:
IP Peg 930205.412 <127 Ths
Observer's code: Ths: S. Takahashi (Shiga, Japan)."

Taichi Kato, Variable Star Observers League of Japan (1993 Feb 6):
"CCD observation of variables:
IP Pegasi (V-band)
       UT V-C UT V-C

   Feb. 3.3871 +2.20 *1 Feb. 5.3852 +3.05
   Feb. 5.3830 +3.20 Feb. 5.3858 +3.01
   Feb. 5.3837 +3.26
   Feb. 5.3845 +3.20
   Feb. 5.3852 +3.05
   Feb. 5.3858 +3.01
  V = IP Peg  C = 232311.01 +182513.7 (2000.0) 10.8
(*1 scatter due to string twilight)
The mean mangitudes of IP Peg were V=12.8 on Feb. 2 and V=13.9 on Feb. 5.
There remains ambiguity of background subtraction. Therefore variability
can be checked only by differential maginitudes."

The Astronomer Electronic Circular No. 706 (1993 Feb 6):
"IP PEGASI
Professional astronomers working with Hubble advise us that IP Peg has
been reported in outburst on Feb 1 at 12.5 by members of AAVSO and
request our confirmation. In response to our appeal, Taichi Kato, Japan
confirmed the outburst using CCD at Ouda. The star was recorded at
V=12.8 on the TV monitor at Feb 3.387UT."
