On a 38-minute CCD exposure of the GRB011121 field made through a broadband
V filter, mid-exposure 08:15 U.T Nov 22, 2001, I find nothing brighter than
magnitude 17.5 within a circle of radius 8' that is not on the digitized UK
48-inch Schmidt photo taken in 1976 (Digitized Southern Sky Survey).
The 38-min CCD exposure is in reality the sum of sixty-nine 33-second
exposures.
Note that this observation was made more than 13 hours after the GRB
occurred.
